Staying in the Marais, brought many visits to the famous Bouillon République — where the tradition of the French bouillon lives on in all its theatre and abundance. On several visits, I reserved the table papers and menus and carried them back to the studio. What followed are joyful gestures of happy memories — hand-painting directly onto the original papers, recreating the memory of those meals, that light, that particular Parisian atmosphere.
